How Does a Fertility Calculator Work?

A fertility calculator is a rough measure to estimate your chances of getting pregnant. It is based on a statistical analysis that takes in to account various factors. These factors include how long you have been currently trying to conceive for, your age, how many previous attempts you have done with assisted reproductive technologies (ARTs), such as, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Intracytoplasmic Injection (ICSI), or Intrauterine Insemination (IUI). It is important to note that the calculator is a rough estimate, and is not an absolute answer. The numbers can vary based on much more personal factors and probabilities.

What Data was used to develop the Calculator?

​

​The data collected from 144,000 IVF cycles between the years 2003-2007 was used to develop the fertility calculator. The data is from Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority from the UK.
